IMG_8865pumpkinHello LadiesI hope everyone has had a nice weekend. Today's look I was excited to style. Again, looking ahead to NYFW ( my mom is going, I can't this year) and some of the Fall Trends, this Pumpkin Spice/Rust shade is hot on the runways! Mmm. My husband laughs as each fall I get drawn in to everything "pumpkin spice." Candles, bake goods, coffee.. lattes ( of course) and now clothing.  This shade is indicitive of Fall, its rust colored beauty can be complimented by so many shades: olive, black, mustard, camel, browns., metlot , burgundy Another trend that would work quite well with this dress, is wearing a turtleneck under the dress. This is quite popular on the runway, and can take a dress from another season, into fall/Winter. If you missed my NYFW LOOK #1 inspiration: Fall Florals, click HERE.

IMG_8909Hello Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. The above quote I thought was quite fitting, for my life,  although I today, I will not be getting philosophical, perhaps just reflective. This weekend we took the pups to South Mountain, a beautiful mountain area north of Lake Norman, where we live. Waterfalls, breathtaking views awaited us, along with a tasty picnic lunch.IMG_8886What I love about Fall, of course the fashion, and also the cool temps and fresh air. I am also a fan of hiking and camping. Being in nature is one of the most calming and relaxing things I love to do. I think it all stems back from my Girl Scout days. There are so many gorgeous mountain areas and state parks in North Carolina, one must take advantage of the waterfalls, the scenery and treks. When I walk in the woods, there is a calm peacefulness, no worries or concerns for that moment, other than to enjoy my surroundings.

IMG_7744Happy Friday all!I know, the middle of Sept should allow me to take out some light sweaters, perhaps a moto jacket, but not here in Charlotte, NC. It is still 90 degrees with a few days dipping to mid-80s.  By now, I am ready for Fall, the change of seasons and cooler air. Had some fun things happen this week, with the air conditioning in our car breaking down, and getting stung by a bee ( im allergic) while sitting on the deck working on the blog. My hubby is a handiman though, and was able to replace the fan and fix the air in about an hour! So, that was much better. The above look is from LOFT, and nothing says ease of summer, like a maxi dress. This beautiful sea green dress caught my eye and the jewelry I received as a birthday gift. The colorful metal floral necklace, I would be able to wear with so much.

IMG_8766scarfHello LadiesToday I have collaborated with the brand, Artteca, which means "gallery" in Latin, a name very aprapo for this artistic and creative company. The company creates "wearable art" by working with artists from around the world to create contemporary pieces that are bold, colorful and made in the USA.  Being a former Music educator, I also loved the fact that Artteca supports and impacts young artists in Art Education.  This is my 4th Look on a Series of Denim Trends. I am  wearing a dressed up pair of dark wash flares, lace blouse with its detailed edges, and as it is a monochromatic look, brought in color with the Artteca silk scarf and shoes. See  DENIM LOOKS: LOOK 1  LOOK 2  LOOK 3. Yesterday's DENIM look showed how I styled a jean jacket over a trend for Fall 16. Click here to view.

fallfloralstrendThis is kind of a combination of a series I wanted to do on the blog sharing how i incorporate the NYFW Fall Trends with my closet, and put together a similar look  Think of this as a Two-fer! A NYFW inspired outfit and a Denim Trends look. My denim item this week, is the classic jean jacket.  As I research Fall Fashions from the runway, I came upon these looks that of course I love and want to style. Fall florals are big for Fall 2016 on the runway and I chose to style it with clothes from my closet. I went to Fashion Week last year, this year it is my mom's turn! I look forward to hearing about her experience and will write about it here. I really love some of the runway trends, and what is great about this look is that it is truly something one can wear "in real life".  I truly love to take items that are currently in my closet and wear them for another season. I have worn this ASOS dress several times in the spring, as you can see here.  The color pallete however, does lend itself to Fall months, as it has deep plums, grey and navy tones.IMG_8808IMG_8816I decided to wear my F21 jean jacket as I emulate the look from the runway, and also because you have never seen me in a jean jacket!  The vintage brooch inspiration is  taken from fellow bloggers, Suzanne of  Suzanne Carillo Blog  and Anna of Annas Island Style;  I added some of my purple toned vintage brooches to the look. I wouldnt mind looking for some  embroidered patches I could add to the jacket as well.IMG_8812

Did somebody say "Malbec"? I have always been more of a red wine drinker, and Spanish wines are some of my favorites. Today, I am not reviewing wines, ( as much as I'd like to!) but several products of the Vine Vera Resveratrol Malbec DNA collection.  I was gifted the collection and want to give you a review of some of the products. VineVera is a Luxury Skin Care Line where each collection is named after a particular wine, with varying ingredients. I am going to give you a bit of info from each one, and to let you know...

IMG_8733IMG_8731Hello Ladies!I hope everyone is doing well. We had our first weekend here, where we didn't feel like we spent hours in a sweat lodge! It was mid 70s and mid 80s, which is a bit cooler than it has been . I love to walk in the woods, pups in tow and just enjoy nature and quiet. We decided to go to King's Mountain, about an hour's drive, go for a short hike and have a picnic lunch. As far as today's outfit, I am sharing Denim Look #2, with the Mid waisted flared jeans, with a medium wash, super soft denim.  I have purchased dark denim clean flares, with no distressing,  just a dark rinse that I will share another time, a dressier style. I thought these were pretty cool, and I have always liked flares, just haven't worn them much on the blog yet. It has been too hot to layer as of late, so I decided to wear this brown plaid  vest for added pattern interest, and my nod to Fall, even though it hasn't hit here yet.! I mixed some floral and stripes in yesterday's blog post HERE, so check that out when you get a chance.
