Morning ladies!Isn't it cool when a trend comes along, and instead of having to buy anything, you already have it in your closet!? Well, that is what happened to me, as I just went through my closet over the weekend and realized I had about 4 snakeskin prints in various forms- shoes, skirts, dresses.
Since Summer is drawing to an end ( well at least in the retail world). I thought i would do a flashback post. Here in NC, it really doesn't get "chilly' until the end of Oct. My blog is heading to the 5 year mark, so that marks I am sure, a few outfits that i love and isn't it always fun to look back at your style from years past? How has it changed? What might I add to my summer wardrobe? Well, at this point in time, I am getting excited about buying cashmere sweaters, dusters and booties, but really there are end of season sales out there where you can shop for the existing season.

It took me over a year to find a jean skirt I loved. I'm picky! I also wanted one to the knee and loved this sort of retro button down the front style. Because it is too hot right now for jeans, I chose the next best thing.,

Morning FriendsIt was one of those semi-relaxing weekends along with errands and blog work. We visited our favorite wine bar, The Cottage, where the pups are more than welcome - and the "fur"-niture is equally dog friendly. We began going to The Cottage years ago, as it is beside one of our favorite restaurants on the Lake, North Harbour Club. We popped in on a whim one afternoon, looking for a cute place to sit and have just a glass of wine and enjoy the view of the harbour and various boats.The staff is so welcoming, we now tell the pups we are going to Grandma Trudys or to see Aunt Theresa. What? You don't talk to your dogs? :-) Regardless, it was a beautiful, cool night, with temps in the 70s and low humidity, and I would wear a very casual striped midi dress I bought from Target about 3 years ago.

I have always been a careful shopper. I don't typically buy things at retail. My brothers have both been buyers in the fashion world and I realize the mark ups are out of this world! However, at the same time, I realize what is a fair price and i also love to find deals. This is where some bargain shopping comes into play as well as thrifting.
Morning Ladies!Sometimes i think I am an "Old Soul". I am not one to say my era is better for this and this, but I do love older swing and Big Band music. Nothing like the sound of a Big Band Orchestra to get your ready to dance. When hubby and I heard The Glenn Miller Orchestra would be coming to town, we were ready to Stop, Drop and Roll.... to get our tickets!We did however, just order them straightaway on-line. I have always loved jazz, swing, big band, particulary when I went to the School of Music for college. Later hubby and I would take swing dance lessons, which were so fun. One of the first Big Band songs i remember having on a 45 record was "In the Mood." But what was I 'in the mood" to wear?
