Hello Ladies!Welcome to My Refined Style Linkup, as we welcome in March! Hard to believe, but I am ready, so ready for spring. I do love sports, but I have never been a snow bunny or enjoyed skiing. When people ask me if I am good at skiing, I say, "No, I am good at falling." So, I will stick to what I know. I am better at dressing for the cold! I did have a coat on in addition to what I am wearing today, but wanted to share with you my love of sweater dresses and one of...

IMG_6678Hello Ladies!I think my brother was "feeling the heat" when I called him out on the blog last week.  He knows he can reply anytime :-) . Today I decided to put together and share with you how much details can make an outfit. You all know I love lace, leather, ruffles, ( faux-fur, tweed  and vintage inspired looks. I love texture and the fall/winter season certainly lends itself to incorporating texture into one's outfit. I wanted to put together a neutral look, but add rich tones like this rust ruffled lace  top by Zara to add spice to this fashion recipe. I first wore this as a sleeveless top at NYFW, I will wear it again as a vest, putting a button down top underneath. I saw this cashmere leopard cardigan as part of the Mad Men collection for Banana Republic and loved the style straightaway!

 1. Hi Deb, I know it can be difficult to pick a name to one's blog, how did you choose the Blog Name: Fashion Fairy Dust? ( My intro may be) As a musician I was sorry to hear about David Bowie's passing. It got me thinking that perhaps the name Fashion Fairy Dust was something he used to put together his outfits.( wink;-))I love that Jess! Fashion Fairy Dust does sound like something David Bowie might have used! I'd been kicking around the idea of starting a blog for quite awhile; I love fashion and friends would often ask my...

Happy Monday,Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. First, I am honored to have been interview by Deborah Boland of Fabulous After 40. I would love for you to read it and share if you care to do so. READ MY INTERVIEW HERE.When I was contacted by the company Silver and Post Jewelry, I was happy to respond and collaborate.  Hello Ladies!Your wish is my command! I mentioned more blue, and here you have it. I am slowly adding more to my wardrobe to spring, and even recently bought a cobalt blazer to wear then.  I have no certain explanation for why I don't have as much blue in my wardrobe as other colors, I just began with adding more of the rusts, greens, pinks, burgundy families and have a spattering of blue here and there. Samantha mentioned cobalt and I do have a top or two for summer, remembering wearing it and liking how the shade looked. I usually...

IMG_6604IMG_6612Hello Ladies and Matt,Welcome to Turning Heads Tuesday. Matt is my younger brother, and he commented that he wants to comment on my blog but that I ALWAYS begin with, "Hello Ladies", so I decided to include him in my introduction! I better hear from you, Matt!! :-)February is always a time, actually January is when I start to get antsy for Spring. I just am not a fan of cold, and the inability to take my puppies out with us to lunch or a wine bar, or anywhere for that matter. I could complain, but our winter isn't very long here in Charlotte, and the coldest months are January and February. I do like to see sunshine though. It just so happened to be the spot in which we took pictures was sunny.   I just prefer warmer days, and do believe in the "winter blues".
