IMG_6526Hello LadiesWelcome to Turning Heads Tuesday. I don't wish to write a lot today, but wanted first to thank you for the support I received while away from the computer. My dad passed suddenly over 2 weeks ago ; so I , along with puppies and spouse in tow, went to Pittsburgh for the hardest time of  my life. My brothers and sister met us at mom's house.I want today just to share with you a few things to "celebrate" my Dad, he was an amazing person and I love him dearly. It is difficult to write. I HAD to dress in Black and GOLD today to wear this for my Dad. He was a Pittsburgh  Steelers Fan all of the way, and neighbors down the street could attest to this, as they would most likely hear him shout at the TV during a Pittsburgh Steelers' Football Games.

IMG_0491Hello LadiesWe meet again for  #turningheadstuesday. I I have been thinking about blog goals and topics and plan on doing some new things this year.  I am looking to have a series called "Pinterest Interest" where I try to emulate a Pinterest look. I know many of you love Pinterest and one could easily spend time perusing the boards for inspiration. I have other ideas in mind, budgeting on $150 a month, and hubby likes to laugh or is it cringe when I say, I am spending my $150 allotment!. Just the word "Allotment" conjures up the idea of money for chores or..very rigid spending.. I know that sounds like very little to some, but it allows me to "shop smart". More on that. You all know I love my handbags and these are investments, or something I spend more on, and they are usually gifts, or I will save for a couple of months. I also am a member of the Purse Forum, and if you are and post, after a certain amount they will verify the authenticity of a bag, as I have bought on Ebay, Poshmark etc.

 Hello LadiesHope you all stayed warm and cozy during our winter storm here in Charlotte. They close the businesses down and school with the ice and snow we had. I like it as a snow day gives me a chance to catch up on things and cuddle with the pups, drink hot cocoa etc..When I was asked by Sheela, of Sheela Writes to be the Guest Blogger for the Fab 40s, I was excited and thought it was quite nice to be asked! IMG_0477Hello Ladies,I hope you had a great weekend. For me, January I could take it or leave it. Just kind of dreary and cold. I like to make the most of the weekend, so we decided to go to the Wine Maestro. I couldn't help but like the name to the new place, I suppose a metaphor for someone in charge for the composition of flavors, aroma, and taste of the wines. There are some similarities aren't there. If one decides to describe the flavor, the term is "notes" for wine terminology. I just know what I like. I can taste the obvious, if it was aged in an oak barrel vs stainless steel, fruit flavors etc. I enjoy wine tasting as I like to learn about the regions, the grapes etc. I suppose that is why I was a teacher as well, I like to learn new things.. My guitar instructor told me, there is always something to keep learning in life. I wouldn't go through the music program and say, "well, that's it! , I've learned all I can about jazz guitar!"The same can be said with fashion. There are always new things to learn. Today I am sharing a casual look wearing my Citizens of Humanity dark denim straights, a brown tweed jacket, and a pair of favorite casual leopard slip ons. Part of my goal this year with the blog is to continue to learn new things about fashion, new ways to style, new topics to explore or share. Today this is one of the ways I will style this ruffled, brown tweed jacket. A casual way one could wear this look to run errands, go out to the movies, lunch etc. I will also style this blazer in the future in a more dressy way.

I suppose there is something about florals that have me all giddy!  I get giddy when f all approaches and I know I can get my pumpkin spice beans at my local fresh market.
