IMG_6978Hello LadiesI hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Easter. .We went to a Vineyard, took the puppies and had a good time. There are a few that allow dogs, and we try and take advantage when it is nice outside. Service was great, as was a new grape, Chambourcin, a dry red varietal that is becoming more popular here. All was well, except for a few overly intoxicated women wanted to dog-nap my puppy Truffles. That is another story for another time. Easter made me think of all of the traditions in our family; Mass, Blessing the Baskets, getting together and I think hunting for Easter Baskets until we were about 25. Ha.  Easter also reminds me of Spring, and today I am reviewing an talking about my dress from Coldwater Creek. When Coldwater Creek approached me about reviewing an item on their site, I was excited as it was a familiar shop and I knew they had some lovely clothes. I was to choose two items from their site and they would send one. I initially chose this lilac blazer with all its embroidered style I thought would look wonderful adding a pretty pastel to white, a gorgeous spring shade to a dress , plenty of options. However, since this was unavailable, I chose to no surprise, a dress! Looking at their on-line site I fancied several dresses, such as the  Table for Two  dress, accentuating the waist and a staple piece. I also liked the printed Lavender Fields dress that was longer which I thought would look smashing for a wedding or just out for an  afternoon lunch.  However, the Floral Mesh Knit Dress caught my eye, in a periwinkle or "serenity' color, I liked the vertical lines in the style of the dress, adding length and giving a lean look to the wearer. The mesh material made the dress very comfortable to wear and also light for warm weather. The pattern was subtle, tiny flowers with stems made the dress look delicate as does the length and flow of the dress. The fit was quite good, if not a little loose, and I am wearing   an XS. I would also recommend a heel, albeit small or higher to give the legs length, continuing with the vertical line. Flats may be fine, but it may also look to shorten the legs as the dress comes inches past my knee. ( But I am 5 foot 9)  I also HAD to share my new fancy footwear with you too! I loved the vintage look to these B.A.I.T shoes, as I love a pretty t-strap and the lavender color caught my attention for spring. Since they have a tiny wedge, they are  do-able for me and fun to wear. Perhaps I will wear this outfit to my next Lindy Hop! :)

IMG_6884IMG_6881Hello ladies and Gents,I hope everyone had a nice weekend, as I want to know where the time went! I am still trying to adjust to Daylight Savings time, and wake up feeling tired. My boy Gibby just turns around from being in his tight little ball of fur, to staring at me knowing it's F-O-O-D time! Truffles has joined in the "Morning Stare Down", and I laugh and get out of bed. As far as weather goes,  we have had some usual record temps here in Charlotte with a few days in the 80s! Charlotte, has in the past gone from Winter to Summer, but this is just one of those spells everyone is experiencing ,and we will be back to normal temps. Today I decided to show you an outfit with pattern mixing. I have done this as a very subtle way in the past, HERE with stripes and a leopard print, and today I am sharing one of the more popular way to mix patterns, floral and stripes.

IMG_6754IMG_6769IMG_6782Hello Ladies!Since my 2 year  Blog Anniversary was in February, and I share it with you on the blog last week, I wanted to include flowers then, but things got in the way. For this post, let's just say it was a delayed celebration, and more in accordance with Spring. We could call this a Celebration of the One Year Anniversary of the #TURNINGHEADSTUESDAY #LINKUP!! Where has time gone? Thank you all for making this linkup successful! :-)

Hello Ladies,Are you a stillleto kind of girl? Or do you wear flats? Perhaps you like a kitten heel like me.However, now one can have a happy medium.  A trend I can get behind, or should I say, "on top of". As you know, because of my medical condition, I can not wear a stilleto or a high heel. However, with this trend,  there are some very pretty and comfortable looking shoes with a 1-1.5 inch block heel. Today I am sharing some of my favorite block heels, which, let's face it, is easier to walk in, and makes one's legs...

IMG_6678Hello Ladies!I think my brother was "feeling the heat" when I called him out on the blog last week.  He knows he can reply anytime :-) . Today I decided to put together and share with you how much details can make an outfit. You all know I love lace, leather, ruffles, ( faux-fur, tweed  and vintage inspired looks. I love texture and the fall/winter season certainly lends itself to incorporating texture into one's outfit. I wanted to put together a neutral look, but add rich tones like this rust ruffled lace  top by Zara to add spice to this fashion recipe. I first wore this as a sleeveless top at NYFW, I will wear it again as a vest, putting a button down top underneath. I saw this cashmere leopard cardigan as part of the Mad Men collection for Banana Republic and loved the style straightaway!

IMG_0491Hello LadiesWe meet again for  #turningheadstuesday. I I have been thinking about blog goals and topics and plan on doing some new things this year.  I am looking to have a series called "Pinterest Interest" where I try to emulate a Pinterest look. I know many of you love Pinterest and one could easily spend time perusing the boards for inspiration. I have other ideas in mind, budgeting on $150 a month, and hubby likes to laugh or is it cringe when I say, I am spending my $150 allotment!. Just the word "Allotment" conjures up the idea of money for chores or..very rigid spending.. I know that sounds like very little to some, but it allows me to "shop smart". More on that. You all know I love my handbags and these are investments, or something I spend more on, and they are usually gifts, or I will save for a couple of months. I also am a member of the Purse Forum, and if you are and post, after a certain amount they will verify the authenticity of a bag, as I have bought on Ebay, Poshmark etc.

Hello LadiesHope you all stayed warm and cozy during our winter storm here in Charlotte. They close the businesses down and school with the ice and snow we had. I like it as a snow day gives me a chance to catch up on things and cuddle with the pups, drink hot cocoa etc..When I was asked by Sheela, of Sheela Writes to be the Guest Blogger for the Fab 40s, I was excited and thought it was quite nice to be asked! The subject or topic was EMBROIDERY/EMBELLISHMENT and I was given a few links from Gucci's Spring collection...

IMG_0319 IMG_0320Welcome to another weekly edition of Turning Heads Tuesday!!!Today I thought I would try something a bit different. I asked Santa for this poncho first of all. When I opened the box this thick, geometric, super soft, poncho is in the shape of a giant square. I am not used to this! I like my clothes mainly fitted  to my shape, so this is new territory. I love the way they look on others, so I thought, " Take a risk, why not?" If it doesn't work out, I can blame it on Santa!
