Good Morning Friends,I have to say I find winter to be a tough time of year. The warm heat in the Spring and Summer shining down has a positive effect on my muscles. Heat relaxes and has a calming feeling for me. In the Winter, I feel the joints in my hands stiffen and more knots seem prevelant, causing pain and stiffness in my body. I have mentioned the possibility of having SAD ( seasonal Affective Disorder) but have never checked on it with my doctor. I know this is not the only solution, but wearing bright colors or many colors can help your frame of mind. Instead of reaching for the black, grey, dark tones we might gravitate toward this time of year, try mixing bright colors or try color blocking.

Happy Tuesday!Yes, we did end up with a Winter Wonderland last week when hubby took these pics. I am not a cold weather person when it comes to taking pics, but couldn't help but want to get photos surrounded by snow. Usually in Charlotte, when they predict snow of 4+ inches, everyone rushes out for bread, milk and toilet paper, and we get a dusting. This time, they were spot on!  The photos are a tad dark, but it was the best I could do in this weather. I decided to do some pattern mixing on the blog today, with 3 patterns mixed, including my new brocade booties. I have also included at the bottom of the post some other posts Ive done with pattern mixing.

Hello Friends,Let's talk about music and some fashionable rocker style today.. but first...Over the weekend we went to the Jazz Room, a smaller intimate venue in Charlotte, where we saw a pianist, Chad Lawson ,play Gershwin. Loved it! I am a lover of Jazz Standards and the tune "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" was one of Gershwin's tunes the jazz band played at our wedding....it was supposed to be funny. I am sure by now you know that I graduated at Duquesne University's School of Music with a B.A in Guitar Performance, and Music Education. I went for further education a few years later to receive my M. Ed. My main interest began when I was 10, playing guitar. I still remember the first tune I learned-"Dust in the Wind".from .Kansas. I would later get books by John Denver and enjoyed playing folk and rock tunes. In high school and later, my inner rocker was released.... now, years later, I feel that with this outfit I am wearing...A long floral velvet kimono/duster, black jeans, and block heeled black booties, kind of gives off a "Stevie Nicks Vibe".

Happy Tuesday friends! It is finally getting a bit warmer here in NC. with balmy temperatures in the 50s! I am basically a cold weather "wimp', even though I grew up in Pittsburgh. I also used to teach "LifeSports" at a private school here, and just dreaded the winter, as the school didn't have a gym... the outdoors were the gym, and I would dread having to teach flag football to 40 kids in the cold. If you are starting to get in that "Spring frame of mind" check out yesterday's post, as I styled a tunic/lace dress from Joseph Ribkoff.  Today, howecer, I  am bundled up  with my Chicos finge leopard wrap, a surprise gift they sent to me before Christmas.

Hello friends!Wow, here we are in 2018, and I am glad to be back on the blog, although the rest and getting to celebrate with family was wonderful. I hope you all enjoyed the Holidays and celebrated big! It was so much fun on Christmas day when the pups dug into their stockings! They were so excited.  We kept it easy for New Years Eve, as we enjoyed watching the Ball drop and cooking a fancy meal of crab cakes, corn soueffle and other goodies. We toast the New Year with a delicious bottle of vino. Today's post is very apropo to start the New year with and one of my favorite fabric and trends of the year, velvet.  I'm thrilled to start of the first collaboration of the New year with the company, Soft Surroundings.

Atten-hut! DId I get your attention? Well, I am dressing in the "military style" today.. :-) If you didn't get a chance to read about the comfortable and stylish shoes from  yesterday's post on  Adrian Allen Shoes, do so especially if you are looking for a comfortable shoe for the Holidays! As we get closer to Christmas, I always tend to reflect at the end of the year about things in which I am grateful. I have really enjoyed getting to know people better on the blog, and enjoy the supportive environment it offers. I am looking forward to spending time with family, in Pennsylvania and having the puppies with us this time. I have always been big on Christmas, celebrating, enjoying Holiday food and drinks and giving gifts. You saw a few weeks ago my Post about Joseph Ribkoff, a premier Canadian designer that is sold at 1ereAvenue. I wore an eye catching lace red top and black slacks. Today I am sharing another look with you from Joseph Ribkoff, and the second look I styled from 1ereAvenue.

Happy Holidays friends! As you can see, it was such a beautiful day outside, when we took these photos! The forecast the night before was 4-6 inches of snow, and knowing Charlotte, that may mean a dusting. When i woke up, it was as I figured, but kind of wet, dark, damp and cold. So, we quickly braved the cold and my Truffle's tail was wagging after i put her sweater on, only to learn she was to go outside and be cold!I thought besides sharing my dressier Holidays looks, that i would give you a view of what we will all wear Christmas Eve. We are going to my in-laws in Harleysville, near Philly. My mother in law has never seen the puppies in their Santa Suits or "Ugly sweaters", so I thought this year was the time. This is the first year the pups have been there for Christmas. So, I bought this sweater last year from H&M, because, you know why! it has a puppy on it!! Gibson and Truffles sweaters I bought at Target, and Hubby had to get the Star Wars one from Amazon. I'll have to get a photo of him while we are away, in his sweater, he was behind the camera!

Hello Ladies,As the Holiday approaches, I love to dress up various look for the season, be it for Holiday parties, going out to dinner, or Christmas Day itself. I am really looking forward to traveling to Harleysville, PA to visit with my husband's parents, as we hit the road with the puppies. I have been decorating the house, and even though we won't be here, I have enjoyed putting up the tree, garland, and decorating the mantel. Here we are into December, and I want to introduce you to a Brand that is new to me that I am sure you will love-Joseph Ribkoff. Joseph Ribkoff is a premier Canadian designer, and I was contacted by one of the stores that sells the most of his Brand-1ereAvenue. I wanted to put together a Holiday look and this red blouse with  black high-waisted pants, were one of my first choices.
