IMG_7918IMG_7931Hello Ladies!I hope those in the US that celebrated the 4th of July, had a great day! My poor pup, Truffles was up all night as our neighboorhood let of fireworks, then there was a storm! She gets very anxious and shakes. I felt so bad, yet she had to endure 2 nights of this ( Sunday and Monday). Gibson, my boy can sleep through anythingOn to today. I have always liked a Safari look. Not that I am picturing myself out in the African wilderness, hunting wild boar. No, thank you very much. I will be safe in the comfort of my own home wearing  outfit #2 the khaki dress I styled differently. I love the khakis, olive greens, rust shades that are so often associated with this style. Last week,  I paired this khaki shirt dress, light and airy, with my new espadrilles from Zara, a woven brown straw clutch, and this wonderful jewelry in burgundy by Sylca Designs. I have worked with this mother/daughter team before and they always have such unique and stylish pieces.

IMG_7834IMG_7845Hello EveryoneHappy 4th of July! I thought since it is  a special holiday, and most likely many of you will be sitting with family, friends , perhaps cooking up burgers, food on the grill, I would show my patriotic nature by wearing  the traditional red white and blue colors. In the past, I have collaborated with Karina Dresses and this is one of their styles I am fond of . The Ruby , great for an hourglass or an inverted triangle, in my case. In addition to the navy, red, and blue paisley print, there is a bit of dark green in the color scheme. This more delicate necklace is a favorite by 1928.com, with a bit of a vintage vibe.

shoesblogHappy Friday everyone and Happy July 1st! I find it hard to believe as the months keep rolling by. My birthday and Gibby's birthday is coming up next week, so expect a blog post on that.Let's talk about shoes. I am happy about my shoe situation. About 8-9 years ago, it was a different story. Those of you that know about my health, know that I have a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Type III. The Hypermobility Type, where my joints move farther than the normal range of motion and I get muscular knots everywhere in my body. You can read more about it on my About Me page if you choose. Regarding shoes, at the time, I could not wear anything with a heel, and the flats had to have support, but for the most part I had to wear sneakers. Not the cool slip on types, so trendy now, but just your average gym sneaker. So, remembering this, and where I am now, I can say, I honestly have fun with my shoes now. Shopping for shoes, ( online) and finding styles that will fit into my wardrobe is now a joy! I wanted to share for this post, some of my shoe collection for the summer months, some trendy, some not, but rather fun staples that will carry me throughout the spring/summer months. I am able to wear a small wedge ( 1-1.5 inches) block heels ( same height) flats with support, and well-cushioned supported shoes that are fashionable. There used to be a time where "comfortable shoes" meant "ugly" or just not very stylish, but brands have come around knowing there is a market out there for beautiful, stylish and comfortable/supportive shoes. Here are some of my summer staples:You know the melody to Oliver's song, "Food Glorious Food " I'm anxious to try it! Now, replace with , "Shoes, glorious shoes" I'm ready to buy it! There we go!

printtropics Hello all,Another week, another trend! I know I didn't keep up with trends this much growing up. Even now, there are some I like, some I would never wear. This is one of those trends in which I am a fan. Safari prints, jungle prints, whatever one chooses to call them, are in stores everywhere and they are growing on me Just like a large, green leafy print. From bathing suits, to tops and shirt dresses, I love to pair this look with wooden accessories,  woven straw clutches, gold, and love either a platform sandal or espadrilles. I have chosen some very pretty pieces that caught my eye when looking at this trend. Perhaps you are wearing an olive green shirt dress, add a safari printed clutch for added pattern or print to add more interest. Espadrilles  are a fun way to spice up this look as well. .This top from above: Ann Taylor:

IMG_7726Hello LadiesWelcome to Turning Heads Tuesday! June is going fast and there is much going on next month to look forward to. Birthdays, Anniversaries, vacation.. etc.I am looking forward to it! Today I am bringing you this amazing shirtdress/tunic I first saw on Annette, and loved the soft color palette as well as the trendy safari look that is big in fashion right now. As the temps increase, as they are in NC, I like comfortable, light fabrics with breathability. This dress is very light and so easy to wear. Let's just say I love shopping on Zara!

Hello LadiesWhen you think of summer, what comes to mind? For me, it is vacation at the beach or mountains, ice cream, swimming, air-conditioning, fun fruity cocktails, and grilling outside on the patio with my family, plus much more, but I have to stop somewhere! In regard to fashion, I think of sundresses, light airy tops, swimsuits,  white, white and more white and shorts. I used to not like shorts, felt they werent as comfortable as dresses and I didn't feel dressed up enough. However, one can style their shorts to look just as put together as if one had...

summeressentialsHello LadiesHappy Weekend! Well,  since the heat is on , I thought it time to put together a list to get one started on some summer essentials. Swimsuits purchases may be made easier by mixing and matching tops and bottoms, or seeing what best suits us. Anyhow, I picked some items that I either have or would be needing for the Summer Months.  Although, not particularly fashion, sunscreen is a must! Gone are my days of being a teenager and horrifyingly using baby oil to get a "tan" ( Read: Burn!) With fair skin, or without, sunscreen is essential to keep one's skin healthy . I hope you enjoy my list to get you started with the summer months! These are just a few things to get one started on their summer needs.

IMG_7597IMG_7593IMG_7608IMG_7605IMG_7619IMG_7615 IMG_7607Hello Ladies!Glad you are here for Turning Heads Tuesday. Another hot day! I am not complaining, but maybe I need to do a "How to Make Pictures Look Great Even with Sweat Pouring Down Your Back" Post!  That is not me today, but I am just preparing for the summer to come. Ha!  Today was another score from H&M. They do have some fun fashions this year, and I couldn't resist the rust color. Ok, that and the off the shoulder fashion. And the two slits in the front to add some sexiness and self-imposed air conditioning.  I bought this during  the Memorial Day weekend sales for $30 shipped.
