IMG_7703IMG_7713Hello Everyone, and Happy Monday.I promise you I am not complaining. I am just stating a fact when I say it was 96 degrees when we took these pictures. I am a woman who spends about 10-15 minutes on makeup, having it down to a science and basically figure it is going to melt away on my face by the time we get to take the photos anyway. I love YSL's Eclat Primer, as it does an excellent job of making my foundation ( Dior Nude Air) glide on smoothly and evenly, but as temps get hotter, I use this and a dab of foundation, but find that a lipstick is what holds up for these warmer months. I am going to be featuring shorts this week on the blog, and if you are over 40 and want to wear shorts, just do it! There are plenty of lengths and styles to choose from.Today we went to Childress Vineyards, just my hubby and I , as they do not permit furry friends on the premises, and frankly it was too hot for them. The grounds are beautiful and there was quite a crowd. A duo played "oldies" with guitar and upright bass, in an indoor pavilion, and we enjoyed the peach/strawberry Sangria an ice cold refreshing drink. So good in the summer, I need to make my own!

IMG_7477Hello Ladies,I wanted to title this: My Off The Shoulder-Dont-Care-If -I'm-Older-Dress, but decided to keep it simple! :-)I debated about whether I should post my military jacket neutral look today or yesterday, Monday. I like to share the various styles and looks that are fun for me and my interest in wearing a ruched style in a striped dress,  fitted military jacket and cargo pants, white jeans with metallic slips ons or today's trendy look with the off the shoulder floral dress. I have also been buying a few more pairs of pants I have deemed comfortable enough for me to wear, and ones I have been eyeing, the straight ankle trouser. IMG_7132Hello Ladies,Today is one of those laid back looks.  I do dress up for the most part, but other times I want to look put together without wearing a skirt or dress. I do have jeans that I am fond of wearing, these designer William Rast jeans for example, are soft, and I love the dark wash. I decided I am in love with slip on sneakers. The trend has been around for awhile, and they have grown on me more and more. So, when I saw these Same Edelman peach and olive floral slip ons, I rejoiced knowing they would be in my closet soon! I have another pair of his slip ons in Leopard print and they are very cushioned, which is what I need in a shoe-style and comfort.

My mom is coming soon to visit in Charlotte, as my sister and I both live here, she in the South area, and us in the North. My little niece Makaila, who started kindergarten this year, will enjoy seeing Grandma too.  IMG_6948Hello Ladies (and Gents)I hope you enjoyed your weekend. It was a pretty relaxed one, running errands, cleaning the house and putting up decor/pictures as my mom will be visiting my sister and I in a few weeks. I don't think I am the only one runs to Target, and Lowes for "supplies" when company comes to visit. In the Spring, I like to plant a few flowers in the yard, but I am no gardener!Today I was in the mood to share with you a more "casual" look with a light wash jean, boyfriend style, my pink and tan snakeskin skip on shoes, and this navy pinstripe peplum top I scored for $15 on Poshmark. Gone are the days one wears "sweatpants" for a casual look, or dressing down. Let me put it this way, if "sweat" is in the description of the garment, I am NOT going to wear it! :-) I will wear yoga pants and nice sneakers but I am more apt to wear jeans if I am dressing down or want a more casual look. I dress, as I am sure most of you do, according to mood many times, and this was a day I just wanted to relax and be casual. I am already thinking of ways to wear my hair up when the weather gets too warm. Love the chignon, but for this look, a long ponytail, curled would do the trick.

IMG_0265Hello ladies!Welcome to 2016! I partied hard! It is amazing I am able to type this blog post. No, everyone! ahaha! I am sure you know me a bit by now, to know that I am not a party till the break of dawn-drink champagne until I fall over kind of girl! You all know I have to take meds for my illness, so if I make it up until midnight, it is amazing! Well, I did. We enjoyed a New Years Eve with the pups, drank champagne, ate sushi and watched the ball drop. My girl, Truffles shakes and gets so scared with fireworks, we try and calm her down. She stays awake all night just staring out the window, waiting for the next big boom! We had a good time though. Midnight rolls around, we say, Happy New Year, and I think by 12:03, I am in bed.

 IMG_9767Hello Ladies... its almost the weekend! Is this week going fast?Let's just say hubby was being "artsy-fartsy" here with the sun behind my head. I suppose one has to experiment from time to time. I just love all of the leaf colors and it was a good day to take pics. I do find that some days I just have a tough time focusing on a task at hand, as I won't get into it too much, but it has been the second time in  2 months since I have gone out for "fun". EDS can do that to me sometimes. Anyhow, two of the best things that came out of EDS was Gibson and Truffles my pups.  Tell you more about them in the post, but I was in a faux leather skirt mood kind of a day. I have a few in my closet, and this one from Ann Taylor in a chocolate brown really lent itself to styling with some teal tones and soft velvet textures.
